Tokoriki Island Resort, Fiji

My husband and I always cherished our memories of Tokoriki Island Resort in Fiji. Our previous stay, although a while ago, left an indelible mark on us. So, when Kerry recommended it again as the best place to escape, relax, and revive, we didn't hesitate to book our return trip.

The journey to Tokoriki was seamless and swift. After a quick 2 1/2-hour flight to Nadi, we opted for the 15-minute helicopter ride, eager to get back to our favourite island as soon as possible. As the helicopter soared above the stunning blue Fijian waters, I felt a rush of excitement, knowing that a familiar paradise awaited me.

From the moment I set foot on Tokoriki Island, I felt a warm sense of homecoming. The traditional Fijian welcome, complete with songs and wooden handcrafted necklace, was just as wonderful and welcoming as I remembered. The resort's stunning location, nestled amidst lush tropical gardens and surrounded by the crystal-clear waters of the South Pacific, was just as breathtaking as ever.

Our villa, a luxurious beachfront bure, exceeded all our expectations. With its traditional Fijian architecture, private plunge pool, and views of the ocean, it provided the perfect blend of privacy and luxury.

The exceptional level of service and attention to detail were as impeccable as during my previous stay. The staff, always smiling and eager to assist, remembered us and welcomed us back like old friends. Whether it was arranging a romantic dinner under the stars, organizing a private snorkelling trip, or simply offering a refreshing coconut drink as we lounged by the pool, every interaction was marked by genuine warmth and hospitality.

The resort’s commitment to providing a tranquil and intimate experience was evident in every detail. With no children around, the atmosphere was one of serene relaxation, allowing us and other guests to fully unwind and reconnect. The infinity pool, with its panoramic views of the ocean, became my favourite spot for a leisurely swim and a cocktail in the afternoon.

Dining at Tokoriki was a culinary adventure, with a variety of gourmet options that showcased the best of Fijian and international cuisine. From fresh seafood to exotic fruits, every meal was a feast for the senses. We particularly enjoyed our dining experience at the Oishii Teppanyaki restaurant. The Teppanyaki Chef’s table has seating for 4 couples and was perfect to meet new people in a fun and intimate setting surrounded by tropical gardens.

As our stay came to an end, I realized once again that Tokoriki Island Resort is more than just a beautiful location; it was a place where I felt truly cared for, a sanctuary where I could recharge. The combination of stunning natural beauty, luxurious accommodations, exceptional service, and the peaceful, adults-only environment makes Tokoriki Island Resort the best adult-only resort in Fiji.

I left Tokoriki relaxed, revitalised and a promise to myself to return.
