Here is what Sandra had to tell us on her return:-

"I just adored Quito for its history and being so very clean. It is full of wonderful things to see and capture, from the local market to the chocolate shop. Hotel Casa Gangotena is simply adorable and right in the newly restored historic mansion overlooking Plaza San Franacisco. A highlight at the hotel is their amazing “high tea”.

Mashpi is so very well organised and exceptional. It really is a tramper’s paradise with lots to see and amazing walks and wildlife. The skybike, through the Cloud Forest, I must admit  I had my eyes shut in  parts  but was so thrilled that I did do it.  The scenery was like being in gorillas in the mists.

Again both here and in the Galapagos it was  an EXPEDITION not just a cruise. Very full on days with exceptional things to see and do. I loved kayaking with the sea lions. Just so amazing to see the wildlife in its own environment and not afraid of humans.  You were on their turf and you had to step around the animals.

Shopping is secondary, however also amazing, from the Panama hats ( which originate from Ecuador ), leather jackets and ponchos .

Not to mention the stunning food, wines and pisco sours!!

Metropolitan Touring were amazing everything was done exceptionally well. All the transfers, small boats, touring buses and more ran very smoothly.

We were given  metal water bottles  at each place to fill  and keep our water in.  I have never drunk so much water in my life, but you really needed to keep hydrated in the heat.

The fond memories of my adventure will be with me forever."
