With the help of Kerry at The Private Travel Company I recently took my two elderly parents, one in a wheelchair, on a very successful trip to Vietnam.

Kerry’s attention to detail and careful planning ensured it was a memorable holiday. Saving their energy, a precious commodity, was a key theme and Kerry organized wheelchair assistance for both parents in all the airports. The distances are often long but with assistance we were quickly escorted through the formalities to our awaiting transport.

Kerry also gave careful consideration to the hotels we stayed in and organized a wheelchair for our sole use in all hotels. With adjoining rooms and bathrooms with separate walk in showers, these small details made a huge difference in the enjoyment of the holiday.

Guides and drivers, with vehicles to accommodate a wheelchair ensured we saw the sights we had come to see in the most relaxed and stress free way possible.

Huge thanks to Mandy and Kerry at Private Travel Company for getting us excited about sailing in Tonga. We had the best holiday ever and can't recommend it highly enough. The 46ft Catamaran we hired from Moorings was easy to get around the wee islands in and had plenty of space. Never once did the eight of us (4 couples) feel we couldn't find our own space on the boat to sunbathe or be in the shade reading. Tonga is completely unspoilt and a raw tropical paradise. Many, many Gilligan's Island–type lagoons and stunning anchorages. Being able to access the market fairly easily whenever we ran out of fruit or veg was a bonus, not to mention stocking up on beer and wine! The whale action was amazing, truly a once in a lifetime experience to swim next to them. We also had some stunning scuba diving and the coral and tropical fish was amongst the best we've ever seen. We took part in a Tongan feast and church service on Lape Island that was very special, and the guys even watched the first test of the Bledisloe Cup with the locals in someone's house. Fishing at first proved tough but then we finished the bananas and suddenly our luck improved - we caught a tuna and Wahu. ;-)

The impeccable organisation, advice and overall smooth sailing of this trip was a credit to the team at Private Travel Co, thank you!
